Our Structure
Tyne and Wear Development Company works on behalf of Tyne and Wear’s five local authorities – Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, South Tyneside and Sunderland – to support investment and economic development in Tyne and Wear.
We are self-funded by our own portfolio of commercial property and do not rely on any external core funding. We offer free independent and confidential advice to businesses at varying stages of development.
A key part of our success is the strong working partnerships we have forged with business support, economic development and government agencies in Tyne and Wear and the North East of England. We also have strong and direct links with the local business community and organisations representing their interests including the Chamber of Commerce.
