Finance for Business North East Fund
This is a new and exciting £125m portfolio of six investment funds launched in January 2010. The programme, the first of its kind in England, aims to drive economic growth by providing vital investment to hundreds of growing SME’s through loans and equity investments. It is funded by the European Investment Bank (EIB), European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and regional development agency One North East (ONE). The six funds are managed by five individual fund managers and target SME’s from different sectors and stages of growth.
Regional Growth Fund
The Regional Growth Fund is a discretionary £1.4bn Fund that will operate for 3 years between 2011 and 2014. The aim of the fund is to stimulate enterprise by providing support for projects and programmes with significant potential for creating long term private sector led economic growth and employment. In particular it will help those areas and communities that are currently dependent on the public sector make the transition to sustainable private sector-led growth and prosperity.
